I've disabled the "metered connection" option in Windows to force everything over the cellular connection which is quite good (LTE, ~50Mbps), and I've also enabled the option in the OpenVPN Connect app to "Connect on restart" but it doesn't until a user signs in.
I really need this connection to happen as soon as the device boots. The one issue I'm having is if the tablet goes to sleep or reboots the VPN does not reconnect automatically until a user signs in. I'm hoping to utilize this as a new WFH solution as our current one is not as reliable as we need it to be.
I'm using the "OpenVPN Connect" app on a Windows 10 Pro surface tablet with cellular to connect to our OpenVPN server running at the office. Recently started using OpenVPN and am quite happy with it.
